AGuest, i consider the Bible to be the inspired word of God. I believe what the Bible says. I dont pick and choose scriptures that fit my paticular mood. 1 Timothy 3:16-17, Everything in the Scripturesis God's word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and show them how to live. The Scriptures train God's servantsto do all kinds of good deeds.

You can't have it both ways, dear Real One. Either Christ is your Leader... or the Bible, which includes the "false" or "vain" pen/stylus of the scribes/secretaries. Have you ever wondered WHY my Lord said, "WOE, to you... scribes?" It is because of the fulfilment of Jeremiah 8:8.
im confused first you say the Bible includes false or vain pen/stylus then you quote scripture from it?

What will you do when the Great Tribulation Begins?
by Malkiel ini've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.
right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).
barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

That is why I adhere to my organization, while at the same time live 'in Jesus' by doing my best to adhere to his words and principles.
Is this a joke? Welcome Malkiel. Why are you on an apostate site? are you searching for the truth? Jesus Christ is the truth not that org you associate with. They are the lie...this has been proven over the 150 years of their existance. Matthew 23:18, But woe to you scribes and Pharisiees, hipocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
You are going to hear the truth here! Many here do not believe in God, Im not one of them. i believe in God and his precious son Jesus Christ.
I want you to meditate on this scripture: 1 Timothy 2:5, There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us.
Now, that scripture do not say jw are the only way to God now does it? WHY ARE THEY LYING? I could go on but you eyes are probably covered with scales at this time. Pray to God to remove the scales
When the great tribulation comes i wont be here. who in their right mind would want to be here? why do you want to be here. do you know the destruction that is going to take place? I will be with Jesus safe and sound. If you would like to be with him also I'll tell you how. You must be born again.
Now if you still need more information pm me or just ask. any christian here will be more than happy to help!

the TRUTH about DISFELLOWSHIPPING and SHUNNING from JESUS view
by Terry inloving and forgiving are a huge component of jesus' message to his disciples.. in answer to the question as to how many times forgiveness should be offered to an offender, jesus gave the reply, "seventy (times) seven.
" (variously interpreted as either 77 times or a multiple of 70 times 7).. an example is given of a man who owed a considerable sum of money whose debt was forgiven.
this man failed to forgive a much smaller debt owed to him.

I wanted to explore the Jw religion as a positive in comparison to other religions but found I got side tracked with all the anti-witness people, I wanted to discuss biblical scriptures like "no fornication" etc with a view to being a modern day christian? are we progressed in christianity these days that we can now as christians do all the things the bible forbids with impunity? like fornication, adultery, gambling, getting drunk. but not sure how that will be recieved, especially as one of the main things held against the JW's is their strictness which in many cases has scriptural back-up, so in condemning the strictness in witnesses are we also condemning the bible?
I would like to inform you that I am a christian who attends a non-denominational church and these things you speak of that are highlighted in the paragraph are also considered sins that you will be punished for committing in my Bible also! your Bible the nwt and my Bible the kjv or niv or ccv, or any others that have not been changed to deny the deity of Christ Jesus agree with these things. I dont believe that the people here (Christians anyway think we can do what we want to do that God does not approve of.
Your view of this site is very narrow. This site has the capability of allowing the true seeker of truth to see the truth if they are truly looking for it. So take off your blinders! You call the jw strict, I call them Pharassies!

She believes in god's organization?!? I'm getting a divorce!
by kzjw ini never thought my live & let live attitude on religion would have screwed up things this bad.
i'm trying to help my wife find her way out, but i spoke with her tonite & she really believes in the "organization".
can i, in all honesty stay married to someone who essentially knows the bible, has read john 14, but believes the organization is your only path to salvation?

you need to speak with her before you call your attorney. see if she is agreeable to working things out with you. God hates divorce but if one is an unbeliever then i believe you may or the unbeliever may leave but you cannot remarry. you can either reconcile with her or if she dies you are free to marry again only in the Lord. awe marriage what a complicated thing!

Did you ever love Jehovah more than anything else?
by nbernat inyou know that the wts teaches you're supposed to love jehovah above all else including your kids/spouses/parents.
.
.did any of you get to that point?

it takes time to form a relationship with our creator. especially since you are guided to really worship the org instead of him. from my own experience i was distanced from God in the org. their beliefs override our feelings (the little you can muster) for God. once you get away from them you are able to begin a meanngful relationship with God. my experience anyway

Could it happen here?
by BurnTheShips inthis thread, and others like it, got me thinking that, if this board is representative of society, there is definitely an anti-theist wind blowing in western nations, much more so in europe than here in the united states.
could it happen here as it happened there?.
from edward j. derwinski "religious persecution in the soviet union - transcript".
